Deadbolt Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
The short version: Deadbolt collects no data. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.
What Deadbolt does with your information
Deadbolt is an app blocker built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. Everything the app works with stays on your iPhone:
- Your app selections. The apps and categories you choose to block are handled by Apple's framework as opaque, privacy-preserving tokens. Deadbolt cannot see the names of the apps you select, and this information never leaves your device.
- Your sessions and stats. Session history, schedules, and the "hours reclaimed" counter are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. Deadbolt contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own. We have no servers and no database. We could not read your data even if we wanted to — it never reaches us.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
Children
Deadbolt is designed for adults managing their own screen time and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. Because the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
